Retail scores well for customer service

It would seem the adage that the customer is always right is being maintained by the retail industry on both sides of the Atlantic.
People in retail jobs based in the UK and the US have been acknowledged for their customer service skills, with the latter nation’s industry finishing top of a mystery shopper survey involving other major sectors of employment.
According to multichannel customer service group eGain Communications Corporation, the American retail industry is ahead of financial services, communications, consumer goods manufacturing, insurance, healthcare and pharmaceuticals when it comes to looking after customers.
This recognition comes one month after the Institute of Customer Service in the UK published figures showing that major retailers John Lewis, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer (M&S) were top of the customer satisfaction index in January 2010.
In the food retail category, the top ten - after Waitrose and M&S - was completed by Asda, Sainsbury’s, Iceland, Tesco, Lidl, Morrisons, Aldi and Co-op.
The top ten high scorers for customer satisfaction in the non-food retail category - after John Lewis and M&S - were Boots, Dorothy Perkins/Top Shop/ Evans/Miss Selfridge, New Look, Matalan, Argos, HMV, Ikea and Wilkinson.
Keep up the good work!
