Job Description

An exciting Business Development Manager opportunity has arisen to join one of the market leading food distributor in the UK. This business is well known within FMCG and retail brands across the UK & Europe and distributes major household brands and offers genuine competitive prices through their own fast and efficient supply chain to get stock out quickly.

This position will be well suited to someone who is a passionate about building relationships, account management & new business development with a track record of success in delivering outstanding returns ideally within the consumer food, household or health & beauty sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver revenue growth by opening new supplier relationships with retailer, wholesalers and distributors and working to develop supplier partnerships.
  • Ensure negotiations lead to profitable conclusion to both parties
  • Monitoring competitor activity and helping shape trading policy.
  • Presenting and implementing sales strategies both internally and externally.
  • Developing multi-level relationships, negotiating preferred or approved purchasing agreements.
  • Agreeing a business plan for each account
  • Following KPI's that are based on new and existing business revenue and profits
  • Working with the existing buying team, developing senior level contact with their multinational supply base.
  • Planning field trips and market visits and attending exhibitions and trade shows

Key Requirements

  • Similar Business Development, National Account Management experience within a food, wholesale or another FMCG brand.
  • Track record of developing new business
  • Have presented business plans and pitching for new business for clients
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Shows tenacity and resilience to reflect the sales nature of the position
  • Ability to travel across Europe regularly, languages would be beneficial
  • Full Driving license
  • Logical, numerate, strong Microsoft Office skills
