Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and enthusiastic Designer to join the Boyswear fashion team of this leading UK high street retailer on an initial 6 month contract basis, with strong potential to be made permanent. A part of this thriving head office team, you will be responsible for designing creative and inspiring boyswer ranges, from baby boys, through to older boys shirts and knitwear.

As Boyswear Designer, your responsibilities will include:

-Planning and designing a commercial and innovative range. Producing mood boards to show overall vision of your area as well as key design influences such as colour, shapes and style.

-Following through all product development with both the buyers and suppliers.

-Researching trends within the market to influence graphic designs.

-Working closely with Buyers and technical teams to ensure your designs meet the required look and standard.

-Managing and mentoring a small team.

-Undertaking sourcing and inspirational trips.
-Attending trade/range reviews with senior management, regularly reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of designs and spotting potential gaps for growth.

To be successful, you will have:

-Currently be working as an established Designer within another successful UK retailer or major supplier to the UK high street

-Experience designing boyswear or menswear fashion, exposure to ideally both Jersey and Wovens
-Knowledge of relevant packages, such as PhotoShop and Illustrator.

-A strong eye for product.

-Have a genuine passion for product, design and the latest trends.
