Job Purpose
Responsible for all aspects of design and project management from initial briefings and conceptual approach, through to artwork production and proof checking.
Responsibilities• Accurately interpret print trends
• Make up sets of sample designs
• Produce sketches and design ranges to present to Design Manager
• Maintain up to date knowledge of new design and production techniques
• Develop new design concepts
• Experiment with colour, fabric and texture
• Keep up to date spotting fashion trends in fabric design by reading forecasts in trade magazines and using internet sources
• Visit sites and other sources of ideas for designs
• Liaise with marketing and buying staff to plan designs
• Ensure projects are completed on time
• Develop a network of business contacts
